Pitch Deck & Financial Model

The deck, the model and the data room — built to survive the second question, not just the first slide.

Most pitch decks are built to look good. The ones that work are built to survive what comes after the first meeting — where a number came from, why an assumption holds, what happens if it does not. That is a different job from making slides, and it is the one that decides whether anybody writes a cheque.

What this covers

The deck

Ten to fifteen slides in the order investors actually read them. The story first, the numbers where they belong, and nothing on a slide that you cannot defend out loud.

The financial model

A working model, not a picture of one. Assumptions on their own sheet so anybody can change one number and watch the rest move. If an assumption is a guess, it says so.

The data room

The folder you send after the first meeting. Organised so a stranger can find things without asking, and checked so no two documents give different numbers.

The one-pager

The thing that gets forwarded. One page that survives being read on a phone by someone who has never heard of you.

The questions after

Diligence is where most first-time founders lose momentum. We go through what will be asked before it is asked.

How it runs

A call first

Thirty minutes, no charge. You tell me what you are raising and from whom. I tell you honestly whether the story is ready.

Your numbers, not a template

A template model is worse than none, because it hides which numbers you actually chose. We build yours from your own assumptions.

Every figure traceable

Each number states where it came from and what it is measured against. A number without its base is not a number.

Honest about the story

If the business does not look fundable yet, I will say so on the call. That is cheaper for you than finding out from twenty investors.

You own the files

Deck, model and data room are yours, in formats you can edit without me.

Questions

What does a pitch deck cost?

It depends on whether the model and the story already exist or have to be built from nothing, so I do not publish a price list. After a thirty-minute call you get one number and what it covers.

Do you guarantee I will raise money?

No, and nobody honest does. What I can do is make sure the deck and the model are not the reason for a no. The business itself has to carry the rest.

Can you work with the deck I already have?

Often that is the better route. I read it first and tell you whether it needs rewriting or only tightening. Sometimes the answer is that it is fine and the problem is the list of investors.

Do you sign an NDA?

Yes, before you send anything. Your numbers are your numbers.

Have a project? Let us talk.

Thirty minutes, no charge, no pitch deck. I will tell you honestly whether I am the right person for it — and what it would take.
