About this product

Daily puzzles bring readers back. Detective Grid gives you one of your own: a logic-deduction game where players work out which of twenty suspects are guilty. Twenty suspects sit in a grid, each one innocent or guilty, and one is already cleared. Pick a suspect and call Innocent or Guilty; every correct call reveals that suspect's statement, a new clue. The game accepts only calls the clues prove: a guess is refused with no penalty, and a wrong call the clues did prove counts as a mistake. There are hints, a spoiler-free share grid, streaks and stats, an archive of earlier cases, and phone and dark-mode layouts. Each case is generated in the player's browser from the date and your game code, so everyone playing your game gets the same case that day. A built-in solver checks every step, so every case has exactly one answer and can be finished by pure deduction, in any order. Clues cover rows, columns, neighbours, jobs, comparisons and odd/even counts, in easy, medium and hard, with a difficulty you set for each weekday. The builder puts your team, your characters or your community into the grid: 20 names and jobs, your title, your first day. Test play, then download one HTML file to host anywhere, with the embed code. No server, database, account or subscription. Nothing is sent anywhere; progress stays on the player's device.

Questions

How do you know every case is fair?

8 engine tests (22 September 2026): the solver matches brute force on 300 random problems, 24 generated cases each have exactly one answer checked against all 524,288 possibilities, random orders of proven calls always finish with no mistakes, guesses are refused and no clue repeats. 5 end-to-end tests in Microsoft Edge solve a full case through the game's buttons, check reload, the archive and weekday schedule, a phone-width screen, and a custom game built, downloaded and played to the end. Deliberate breaks were each caught, and the tests also pass on an unzipped copy of the download.

Does it need a server or collect anything?

No. There is no server, database, account or subscription. Nothing is sent anywhere; progress stays on the player's device. All code, the engine, the default cast and the design are original, and the avatars are coloured initials with no image files.

How do I get my file?

Right after payment you see a Download button on the payment page. Each link works for 10 minutes, so save the file straight away. If a link expires, write to us with your order ID for a new one.

Can I get a refund?

Digital products are final sale. If a download does not work, email us within 7 days of purchase with your order ID and a short screen recording. We send a working file within 2 working days, or refund you in full if we cannot. Read the refund policy

Is anything shipped?

No. Every product is a digital download. Nothing physical is shipped.

Is the payment secure?

Yes. Payments in India are processed by Cashfree, and payments from outside India by PayPal, each on its own secure checkout. We never see or store your card or bank details.
